Activities UNITED BULGARIAN YOUTH UNION is a non-profit organization, abbreviated with UBYU. UBYU is a free, voluntary and independent association of people who represent and defend the interests of the Academic youth in Bulgaria regardless of their social status, religious and ethnical belonging and its principle is to work on the base of its members’ free will and equality.
UBYU is an independent non-profit body corporate. It does not depend on any public institutions or political parties and it does some useful civic activities. Being such an organization, its main purposes are: to develop and strengthen the spiritual values of the young and to pursue a youth policy in the sphere of the education, ecology and Euro-integration; to assert the social and academic rights of the Bulgarian youth and to contribute to the democratic government of the country; to popularize the European values and, at the same time, to preserve the national Bulgarian identity; to help the personal realization of the young under the conditions of the European integration process.
The subject and the activities of the organization consist of development and realization of different projects and seminars relevant to the topical academic and youth problems; giving information about grants, credits, opportunities of re-qualification, specialization and professional realization in the country itself and abroad; development and maintenance of an information net in order to assist anybody when he is trying to find or apply for a job; realization of different forms of international youth exchange that aim at developing student’s personality and his uniting to the world. UBYU does some additional economic activities, publishing, information, consulting and program work, management and marketing in the sphere of organization’s main subject of activity. The incomes from the additional economic activity, which is regulated by the Commercial law normative decree, are used for the realization of the set organization’s tasks.
UBYU is one of founder-members to coalition of non governmental organizations “ I CARE ” for increasing the public activity and participated actively in campaign for increasing the electoral activity “ I CARE ”. The coalition is made in the autumn of 2006 year.
Within the frameworks of 2007 UBYU develops activity as:
- A partner by project of Youth academic creativity / YAC / - “Youth volunteer centre “Together” , As replying for guaranteeing volunteers in the models of realizing the activities.
- Partnered actively with at Bulgarian STATE AGENCY FOR YOUTH AND SPORTS in the setup and prosecute a paintball tournament on the occasion of the celebration on International Youth Day.
- Initiation, organize and realize campaign for increasing of youth informe for the part and the functions of the european institutions “Socially active 2”.

In the beginning of 2008 year, United Bulgarian Youth Union has 92 members and 19 volunteers.
