What kind of project do you want to do?
Project „Country by the sea“ is international project with 2 countries participating (Estonia and Bulgaria). These two countries were chosen because they present two different cultures (Nothern European culture by Estonia and Balcan and Slavonic culture by Bulgaria). Also both of these two countries have same problem topic: relations between native people (estonians and bulgarians) and national minors (russian-speaking people in Estonia and Rumanians in Bulgaria). The name of the project came from geografical location of countries (Estonia is by the Baltic Sea and Bulgaria is by the Black sea).
We will try to show young people in two countries, that all differences are because of history of each nation. And history is not the reason to hate each other, but reason for trying to letting know each other.
Main activities are:
- workshops (national craft, food and so on, maybe some workshops will be prepared by youth
- discussions (forums), where participants are getting knowing each other, speaking about their countries, culture and so on
Main questions for discussions:
- National minors – am I in peace with them?
- If I am national minor, what do I feel living in my home country?
- My experience of communication with other nation’s people: positive or negative? Why (both of anwers)? Is the reason of it in history (both of answers)?
- If experience is negative, what can I do to change it? Can my experience be useful for people in other countries?
Age of young people may participate in this project is 15-18 years, but also younger and older young people can participate also.
