Title: NEC-New Europeans Citizens
Project length: from 1 January 2011 to 30 June 2012
Project’s objectives:
- improve young people new media knowledge and usage (media literacy)
- train young people to citizen journalism techniques
- promote, on an European level, confrontation and exchanges between young people on migration linked thematics: particularly we will focus on how some basic concepts -as identity, citizenship, local, national and European Community membership- are evolving on the basis of demographic changes caused by migration (issues as second generations, melting pot, salad bowl and crossbreeding).
Theme: identity concept (both personal and national) changes as a result of migrations
Work methods
- ICT utilization (webinar, e-work, e-learning, web 2.0 e social network)
- Citizen journalism utilization (video, photography, reportage and web radio)
Work phases and set actions
1. Start up seminary on a digital platform (webinar)- all project partners (months 1-2).
2. Settlement in Turin of a peer reporters editorial staff, whose components will participate to a training on journalistic investigation and video shooting and editing. After this training they will edit some multimedia journalistic reportages and articles focused on project themes (using web 2.0, blog, flickr, facebook). This will be a formative and contents contribution for those participating to the contest. As the members of the editorial staff will also be the promoters of the contest, they will meanwhile work on his launching. (Months 5 to 10).
3. Digital platform training addressed to all project partners (months 5 to 10), divided as follows:
A) thematic sessions (seminars conducted by highly profiled specialists and journalist)
i. critical media analysis
ii.citizen journalism
B) technical courses (training sessions held by technicians)
i. web 2.0 journalism training
ii. photo training
iii video editing training
4. Contest launching: it will be open also to “not project partners”, and centred on “identity, migration and citizen journalism”; the actions to be carried on in this phase are:
• Regulations and panel settlement,
• Contest promotion,
• Works selection and evaluation.
Contest first prize will be a budget for professional editing of the presented to the contest idea. (5 to 6 months contest launching and promotion, 12 month contest closing, 13 to 14 months panel evaluation).
5. International exchange, held in Turin, open to project partners and contest winners. Confrontation between participants both on project themes (identity and migrations), and techniques (citizen journalism). Open event for contest awarding. (16 month).
6. Multi languages dossier editing, on project themes and techniques. It will be published on VpS Magazine (italian), Altermondes (french) and on Web (english). (month 16, on the occasion of the event).
7. Project results spreading (16 to 18 months)
8. Partners project on webinal evaluation (17 to 18 months)
Partners role:
1) start up seminar participation
2) selection of 2 or more young people for participating to the training courses
3) contest sponsorship on it's own area and communicational media
4) take part to the contest
5) take part to the final exchange
6) project results spreading
7) evaluation seminar attendance
Co-financing request to each partner
As the project is financed by the UE at 80%, each partner is required to contribute to the costs wich will benefit: 20% of training costs, 20% of flight costs + board and lodging in Turin.
Amount to be defined (depending on partner number and also on the number of participants for each partner), approximatively 200-300 euro for each partner with 1 or 2 participants.

30.08.2010 16:04 Youth exchanges Sicily - Italy in spring 2011
Dear friends
the association "InformaGiovani" is going to apply for two different youth exchanges to take place in Sicily in spring 2011 at the 1st of september deadline.
Both exchanges have some common features, but they are different in terms of theme and venue.
PLEASE NOTE THE VERY POSITIVE FINANCIAL CONDITIONS FOR BOTH THE EXCHANGES.
Both exchanges will be run in the dates 20-29 april
both exchanges will have an advanced planning visit about one month before
both exchanges will be co-financed, if approved by the Italian national agency, by the Sicilian regional government and this make it possible to provide TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT UP TO 90% (100% FOR THE APV)
both exchanges foresee that each national group is composed by 4 participants and one leader
EXCHANGE ONE
"Environmental awareness for social inclusion"
Run in Gela, souther part of Sicily, in a small natural reserve.
Participants will take part in some environmental awareness activities and workshops and during some days will do handy ligh work (painting wooden birdwatching points, planting babytrees, etc).
EXCHANGE TWO
"Garden of Memory in Pizzolungo"
To be run in Erice, northwest part of Sicily.
Pizzolungo is a suburb of the city of Erice in the western part of Sicily.
On April 2 1985, attempting to kill the antimafia judge Carlo Palermo with a car-bomb, mafia killed a young woman, Barbara Asta, and her little sons, the twin-brothers Salvatore and Giuseppe, that were near
the place of the explosion.
On the place of the massacre, the city administration of Erice will make a "Garden of Memory" dedicated to the memory of the Asta family members and all the innocent victims of mafia.
Activities connected to the reflection on the role of youth in fighting and preventing crime.
A draft list of activities to be done during the exchange include
- visit to different places of memory connected to mafia and anti-mafia history
- meeting with a journalist and/or a judge expert on antimafia issues
- participate in some manual work in the garden of memory (clean green areas, put in place some play-tools for kids, etc) as part of the non formal education process

Please before applying for partnership take into STRONG consideration the following points
- check if the proposed dates fit with the school/university year of your country, otherwise you could have problems in finding enough participants
- all the participants must be aware of the fact that some part of manual work are included in the programme as they are considered by us and our local partner as an essential part of the informal educational programme

Eurocircle is European NGO in the field of Youth based in Marseille and we would like to propose you to participate in a feasibility visit project for 1st of September deadline : “POP YOUR LEARNING”.
The thematic is about learning within youth in action, non formal education with a specific target group : youngsters with fewer opportunities.
It’s 2 working days with main aim to create concrete projects : trainings or mobility project.
So some sessions of the programme would be split in 2 groups one working more on trainings and the other one on mobility project. It gives us the opportunity to network and to develop projects in paralelle.
The dates would be from 2d to 4th of may 2011
If you are interested you should send part 3 the partnership agreement meaning you engage your organization to participate. You need to write information on your organization on the part 3 and then to send it signed and stamped scanned by mail or fax (+33491480585). I need also your estimate travel cost to Marseille.
Flight ticket would be paid 70% so you need to pay or to ask your organization to take 30% in charge. Your stay in Marseille is taken under the project budget.
I would ask each organization to send one person.

Minorities of Europe (MoE) is a 'Pan European Inter-minority network' which seeks to support and assist the co-operation, solidarity and exchange between different minority communities and young people in Europe.
MoE was established in 1995 as a result of the Council of Europe's campaign against racism, anti-semitism, xenophobia and intolerance across the continent of Europe.
The project title is: Training Course for Youth Exchange Leaders
Short description:
This project aims to train youth workers and youth leaders in facilitating of international youth exchanges. The partner promoters in this project run youth exchanges regularly and need competences in this area of YiA work. It is very important to train them how to actively involve young people in international projects, facilitate non-formal educational activities, to work in multicultural groups, to promote inclusion, cultural diversity and other Programme priorities and objectives, as well as to manage projects efficiently. Finally, it is essential for them to know and understand the necessary health and safety regulations ought to be implemented prior and during an international Youth Exchange. All of the above issues will be covered by the TC programme.
